DC Kupwara asks for identifying drug victims for their rehabilitation

Kupwara: The District Administration Kupwaraon Tuesday organized a conference of all Lumberdars and Chowkidars regarding their sensitization towards Drug De-addiction efforts.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Dr. DoifodeSagarDattatray was chief guest on the occasion. ADC Kupwara, GhulamNabiBhat; CEO Kupwara, Tehsildars and other officers were present during the conference.
Addressing the conference, the DC said that strict measures have been put in place by the District Administration in curbing the drug menace. Giving details, he said 300 arrests and 30 PSAs have been made, besides, 50 kg of different narcotic substances have been seized recently in the district.
He asked the Chowkidars and Lumberdars to extend their support to the District Administration in identifying the drug abuse victims for their proper counselling and rehabilitation.
The DC shared his Helpline Number 9484009093 with the Lumberdars/ Chowkidars for reporting the drug victims for their proper rehabilitation. He asked them to take it as a moral duty by supporting drug victims in coming out from the menace so that they can live a normal life.
ADC Kupwara also spoke and emphasized the role of the Lumberdars/ Chowkidars in identifying the drug victims in their villages.
CEO Kupwara and various other speakers threw light on the ill effects of drugs on the youth and society and highlighted the need for eradication of the menace.
