SSP B’gam inaugurates Winter Sports & Youth Festival-2023

Srinagar: The SSP Budgam Tahir Gilani under Civic Action Programme on Monday inaugurated Winter Sports & Youth Festival-2023 at Indoor Stadium Budgam.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on this occasion the ASP Budgam Gowhar Ahmad Dy SP DAR DPL Budgam Owais Rashid, DySP(P) Faisal Rishoo and Dy SP(P) Mubashir Zargar were also present.
The event is consisting of three different sports championships including Badminton, Taekwondo and volleyball besides, the event will also have an Open Painting competition. Hundreds of youth including boys and girls from across the district are participating in the event.
During the inaugural day of the festival, 12 matches were played in the male category and 16 matches in the female category in the Badminton Championship. Similarly, in Taekwondo 39 fights were held in the senior weight category and 32 fights in the junior weight category.
The SSP Budgam in his message, stressed upon the participating teams to play their matches with high spirit of professionalism and stressed upon the youngsters to allow their minds to explore their own thoughts and imagination through the medium of sports. He further stated that sports activities are important for personality development and to infuse positivity, good health and sense of achievement among the individuals.
