Arrangements for R-Day celebrations 2023 reviewed & finalized at Kulgam

Kulgam: To review and finalize arrangements for the celebration of Republic Day-2023, a meeting of Officers was on Monday held at mini-secretariat here under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat.
During the meeting, DC reviewed arrangements to be made by various departments including security, seating, car parking, transportation, illumination of buildings, refreshments, besides accommodation for the participants.
Dr Bilal exhorted all the departments to put in place elaborate arrangements for smooth conduct of the National event.
It was finalized that the main function will be held at District Police Lines where the National Flag will be unfurled by the chief guest followed by the parade comprising contingents of JKP, CRPF, NCC, police band, women contingent and school children.
Moreover, a full dress rehearsal function will be held on 24th of January.
The concerned departments were instructed to make heating arrangements keeping in view the prevailing cold weather conditions for trouble-free rehearsals and final day celebration. The Mechanical Engineering Department was directed to keep men and machinery ready to press them in service for Snow clearance at the venue in case of Snowfall.
Ex. Engineer PDD was instructed to ensure smooth power supply and put standby DG sets at the venue.
The Municipality and Power department were also instructed to illuminate main buildings in the town.
The DC also instructed the concerned to arrange colorful cultural programmes on various themes depicting rich culture and heritage of the district.
He directed the concerned officers and agencies to maintain close coordination for smooth and error free conduct of the national event.
All the heads of the departments and institutions were also directed to unfurl the National Flag in their offices and institutions at district, sub-divisional, tehsil and Panchayat levels.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Showkat Ahmad Rather, ADC Viqar Ahmed Giri, ASP Shabir Ahmad, ACR Mir Imtiyaz-ul-Aziz, SDM Noorabad Bashir ulHasaan, ACP, GM, DIC, CEO, CMO, DFO, DIO, Executive Engineers of PDD, R&B etc.
Officers from CRPF, Army, and others concerned also attended the meeting.
