Srinagar, Jan 17: Two Lashkar-e-Toiba militants were killed in a brief encounter with security personnel near the court complex in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, police said.
Kashmir Zone Police on it’s twitter handle on Tuesday morning confirmed the encounter and the killing of two militants. In it’s first tweet Kashmir Zone Police said that on specific inputs the joint area domination party of Army & Police tried to stop one suspected vehicle but militants fired upon and in retaliation two militants were killed, Stating therein further that arms and ammnition was also recovered from the position of slain militants. In another tweet the Kashmir Zone Police quoted Additional Director General Police Kashmir Range Vijay Kumar as saying both the slain militants have been identified as Arbaaz Mir and Shahid Sheikh of Pulwama linked with LeT militant outfit, Stating therein further that both the slain militants has earlier escaped from a recent encounter
