11th death anniversary of Late Syed B A Bukhari: He lives in our memories eternally
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterWhatsappTelegramEmail

Once again “Kashmir Horizon” Family commemorates 11th death anniversary of my father late Syed Bashir Ahmed Bukhari, who was the brain behind the idea of floating this newpaper with a mission “Peoples Empowerment” . In the night intervening 16th and 17th January in the year 2012 he passed away leaving behind a Himalayan of responsibility for me both at home and as well as at my work place. His literary bent of mind and a passion for social service were a big goad for me to float “Kashmir Horizon”. Running a newspaper, indeed, amounts to biting a bullet, and I did it on his insistence. I was indeed saddled with something which I never knew was so huge a responsibility. I consistently try to fulfill my responsibility to run this newspaper. Honestly, sometimes the plenteous challenges mould me to give in; but the strength I derive from the words of my father bolsters me enough. ‘To strive to seek to find and not to yield’ was the principle of his life. He was never afraid of death but was fearful of the course of the life before the death. He always urged for a life full of dedication and honesty.
A decade is a course enough to efface memories but the vivid moments the “Kashmir Horizon” family particularly myself as his eldest son had with him are perennial ones .Time cannot pale these memories as they are replete with unending love, knowledge and experience he always shared with one and all in the “Kashmir Horizon” family .The world is transient and so is it’s life .Sooner or later one has to bid adieu to it. What matters the most is what one leaves behind and fact of the matter is that the “Kashmir Horizon” family particularly me in person is proud of the legacy of my father late Syed Bashir Ahmad Bukhari he left behind . He was so much courageous and committed in his initiatives that he always conquered what he believed was invincible whether family affairs or other ones, he always emerged as a victor . “Kashmir Horizon” family particularly I myself owe to him what cannot be described in words. May Almighty Allah the most beneficent and the most merciful bless his soul with peace and may he have the best place in Jannah, Aameen!
