Jammu : Director General J&K Police Dilbag Singh on Saturday sanctioned Rs 94 lakh as Special Welfare Relief to dependents/legal heirs of deceased Police personnel/SPOs.
According to a statement issued from Police Media Centre PHQ J&K Jammu here, the DGP Vide different orders of PHQ, has sanctioned Special welfare relief of Rs 22 lacs each in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased HC Shashi Paul, HC Mumtaz Ahmad Khan, SgCt. Nazir Ahmad and Ct. Abinandhan Singh. The DGP has also sanctioned Rs 6 lacs Special Welfare Relief to dependents/legal heirs of deceased SPO Omkar Singh. The deceased personnel/SPO have passed away due to illness/ natural death while in service.
Police in it’s above referred statement further said that Rsone lakh each has already been paid to the families of deceased Police personnel for performing their last rites through their concerned units. The Special Welfare Relief is sanctioned out of Contributory Police Welfare Funds.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement, police said that the PHQ J&K has introduced many schemes for the welfare of its personnel and their families. Stating therein further that there are also schemes for the wards of Police personnel and SPOs and besides there are schemes for the NoKs of martyrs, their wards and also for the retired Police personnel and their spouses.
