India is applauded by the legends for its distinctive authenticity as it remains one of the most ethnically diverse Countries in the world. Apart from its many religions and sects it is home to innumerable castes and tribes and many linguistic groups.
On January 26,2023 the country will celebrate its 74th Republic Day and in this regard magnificent parades took place in the national capital New Delhi where regiments of the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, police and military forces took part and all states show their culture. Air force shows the brilliant performance of its jawans by flying in the air. This national festival is celebrated every year since January 26,1950.This Day is the honour the Constitution of the country came into effect. As we know Our country was a colony of the British approximately for 200 years and got independence after the freedom movement. The draft of Constitution submitted to the Indian Constitutional Assembly on nov. 4,1947 and 308 members met in sessions in 166 days and this draft was open to the public and modifications were made in it. On this day members signed two copies that were written by hand. These two copies were in English and Hindi written. After two days of signature Dr Rajendra assumed the charge of first president of India and assembly became Parliament of India. This transformation of this nation instills a sense of national pride in the heart of every Indian within the country and keep it alive.
The significance of January 26 is that in 1929 the Indian National Congress made the declaration of “Poorma Swaraj” meaning complete self rule. Jawaharlal Nehru hoisted the tricolour on the banks of river Ravi. This day is celebrated in each corner of the country as well as abroad. Tri colour is hoisted every where with patriotism and fervour. Similarly our entire union territory also celebrates this day with full fervour. And on the same pattern our district administration also celebrates this day with full patriotism and fervour and the main function is held at the historic ground of Govt. Boys Degree College Anantnag. Army, paramilitary forces, police, Fire and Emergency department and school children took part in parade. It is a day every community comes together and celebrates leaving past all their differences.
But this author saw something different few years ago . A teacher was taking tuitions of small children and on this day he organised a picnic for these children to whom he was giving tuitions. He knew the children personally. His tuitions were considered very good. Teachers should follow the path of this tutor with the intent that our coming generations will make the country United.
