DC B’pora reviews power scenario

“Ensure timely completion of augmentation works for smooth power supply”

Bandipora: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed on Friday convened a meeting to review the current power scenario in the district.
The meeting discussed threadbare overall power scenario in the district and upgradation works in power sector for augmentation of power scenario. It also discussed various mitigation efforts carried out in the affected areas.
It was given out that Panzigam receiving station has been upgraded by installing a 6.3 MVA transformer which stabilizes Ajar and adjoining areas besides a separate feeder has been created for Kaloosa to stabilize the supply in town.
The meeting was informed that 43 transformers are in buffer stock for Bandipora Division and 38 transformers are in buffer for Sumbal sub division.
Dr. Owais stressed on the officers to minimise the pendency for repairing the transformers and asked the PDD to take prompt measures to ensure the time-bound redressal of the genuine concerns regarding power supply.
The DC directed the concerned to ensure timely completion of augmentation works for smooth power supply to all areas across the district. He also directed for ensuring complete adherence to the power curtailment schedule and no unnecessary power cuts.
While reviewing the Amnesty scheme, the DC asked the concerned Officer to make extensive awareness regarding the amnesty scheme and urged public to avail benefits of amnesty scheme and pay pending electricity dues.
The meeting was attended by Nodal Officer Coordination Mohd Ashraf Hakak, ADC BandiporaWaseem Raja, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Ex. Engineer PDD Bandipora, Ex. Engineer PDD Sumbal, Ex. Engineer project wing and other concerned.
