34 tourists, 1 pregnant lady rescued in B’gam areas : Police

Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has rescued 34 tourists between Rayar and Yarikhah Doodpathri Road and also one pregnant lady stranded at ShenniPora area of Khansahib.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar here, Police said Police Station Khansahib on receiving a distressed call that some tourists were stuck at Rayar while travelling in their vehicles due to sudden snowfall deputed a police party of Police Station Khansahib which facilitated the travel of 34 tourists up to Yarikhah and provided them necessary assistance.
Police in it’s above referred statement further more said “ Police station Khansahib received a distress call that one lady from ShenniPora area of Khansahib had developed labour issues and needs to be shifted to SDH Hospital Khansahib immediately but due to snowfall and slippery conditions of the road, they are not able to carry patient to hospital”, Stating therein that a police team of Police Station Khansahib was deputed and the lady was brought to SDH hospital Khansahib safely.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement Police said locals as well as tourists expressed their gratitude to police for timely assistance.
