New Delhi: India on Tuesday carried out a successful training launch of nuclear capable Short-Range Ballistic Missile Prithvi-II from the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur off the coast of Odisha.
A well-established system, Prithvi-II missile, has been an integral part of India’s nuclear deterrence, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement.
The missile struck its target with high accuracy, the Ministry added.
The user training launch successfully validated all operational and technical parameters of the missile.
The missile has a strike range of 350 kms and has already been inducted in the forces.
The Indian Air Force(IAF) recently successfully test fired the Extended Range Version of Brahmos Air Launched missile against a Ship Target from a Su-30MKI aircraft.
