G’bal : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Ganderbal and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar here Police said that a Police Party led by In-charge Police Post Nagbal at a checkpoint established at Rangil intercepted a vehicle (Celerio Car) bearing registration No. JK01AQ-9906 driven by one person identified as Furqan Ashraf Dar son of Mohd Ashraf Dar resident of Mandibal Nowshera Srinagar and upon searches recovered contraband substance (Bung Patri) like substance from his possession, Stating therein further that the said accused was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody and vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Police in it’s above referred statement also said that a case vide FIR No. 05/2023 has been registered in Police Station Ganderbal and further investigation has been taken up.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law and assured therein that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken to show that efforts are on to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
