DC conducts extensive tour of Kulgam areas, presides over grievance redressal camp

Rs. 10 lac approved for construction of Health Sub-Centre at Khrewan Chader, 08 lacs for playfield; inaugurates Waste Segregation Centre Chekpora

Kulgam: In order to take firsthand appraisal of the issues and grievances of the people at their doorsteps, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat Saturday conducted extensive tour of several areas including Chakpora, Qaimoo, Khrewan Chadder and other areas and listened to issues and grievances of people for early redressal.
The DC also presided over a mega grievances redressal camp at Village Khrewan Chadder and listened to the issues and demands of people.
People and PRI members flagged various demands and apprised the DC about their issues. They demanded a Health sub centre, playfield, Horticulture & Agriculture Centre, Veterinary centre, Public library and other developmental requirements of the area.
All the demands and issues of people were listened to by the DC and instructed Tehsildar Qaimoo to identify land for construction of Health Sub Centre and playfield and also approved Rs. 10 lac for construction of Health Sub centre in the Khrewan Chadder area and Rs. 08 lac for development of playfield.
Addressing a large gathering, the DC urged unemployed youth to get registered under various self employment schemes and avail benefits of these schemes.
He also added that the Administration is working for holistic development and welfare of the people and people must avail benefits of welfare schemes of the government.
Earlier, the DC inaugurated a waste segregation centre at Chekpora constructed by the Rural Development department at an estimated cost of Rs. 9.80 lacs.
During his visit to Qaimoo, the DC interacted with the people and listened to their issues and demands.
He also took stock of progress made in construction of a 50 bedded SDH building which is under execution of R&B at an estimated cost of Rs 19.32 crore.
The DC instructed the officers of the executing agency to ensure completion of the projects within two months.
Accompanying the DC were ADDC Showkat Ahmad Rather, ACD Muhammad Imran Khan, Chief Medical Officer, Tehsildar Qaimoo, Block Development officer and other officers.
