It was informed that the block level activities have been conducted by the student volunteers from various Government Degree Colleges and Higher Secondary schools in 8 blocks of the district which include Kupwara, Hyhama, Ramhall, Kralpora, Langate, Handwara, Sogam and Karnah. The activities include awareness about various government schemes and social issues for the empowerment of rural women and encourage the spirit of voluntary community service and gender equality among students.
On the occasion, the ADDC directed the faculty members of GDCs to work with added zeal and enthusiasm for completion of block level activities in the district. He further stressed on judicious utilization of funds released for the purpose and submission of Utilisation Certificates thereof.
Earlier, a threadbare discussion was held in the meeting regarding different modalities involved for conducting of the activities in blocks.
District Social Welfare Officer Kupwara, Hidaitullah Mir, nominated faculty members from GDCs, besides, staff members of DHEW Kupwara attended the meeting.
