Labour Deptt, RDD, DE&CC organise awareness camp for workers, youth in Paddar

Kishtwar: Assistant Labour Commissioner’s Office, in collaboration with Department of District Employment & Career Counseling and Department of Rural Department &Panchayati Raj on Fridayorganised an awareness camp for organised and unorganised sector workers and unemployed youth at BDO office GulabGarh.
BDC Chairman Paddar, Arpan Singh Rana; DDC member Paddar, Hari Krishan Chauhan; ALC/AD employment Amit Kumar, Sarpanches and Panches of all panchayats, staff of RDD and Labourers including unemployed youth attended the camp.
During the awareness camp, the ALC imparted awareness to workers about different schemes of J&K Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (JKBOCWWB) including benefits of registration of labourers on JKBOCW Portal and schemes under JKBOCWWB like education assistance, Death and chronic disease assistance, funeral assistance, partial disability assistance for workers etc.
Besides, the ALC also briefed about Shops & Establishment Act and urged the PRIs to inform the shopkeepers/owners to get registered on the JK labour portal under the said act.
VlEs of Gulab Garh and Atholi panchayats were also present on the occasion. On the spot renewal and editing of Labourer’s details on the Portal was also approved at the camp.
Besides, simultaneously awareness camps were held to impart awareness to local youth about Mission Youth initiatives like Mumkin, Tejaswini, Tourist Village Network Scheme, spurring entrepreneurship initiative etc.
PRI members raised various queries regarding the Mission Youth Schemes and the same were answered by the AD Employment. He requested PRIs to disseminate the information of Mission Youth initiatives among the unemployed youth of the area so that maximum number of youth were roped in to get self employment opportunities through the Mission.
Later, Young Professional, Vijay Kumar, who is recently deputed to District Kishtwar in Modal Career Counseling Centre, also briefed the gathering about the registration of the unemployed youth on the NCS portal as well as on the jakemp.nic.in portal of J&K. He also briefed about the benefits of registration which includes, SMS notifications of jobs on mobile of candidate, individual counseling facility being available on the Portal and information about lots of employment opportunities within and outside the country.
