The increasing grievances of the students over the evaluation of answer papers of only few subjects subjects updated on the portals of Kashmir University can’t be trashed without proper scrutiny as students are within their rights to seek one time simultaneous updation of the evaluations of all the answer papers of all the subjects on the University portals. What matters the most is the fact the issue is not about transparency in the evaluation process but issue is about the one time simultaneous updation of the evaluations of all the answer papers to reduce the intensifying chaos and confusion that has panicked the students after seeing updation of answer papers of only few subjects on University portals. Though it is good that evaluations of answer papers are updated on university portals before the announcement of results of the examinations by the University with the intent of giving the candidates an opportunity to come forward with the objections in stipulate time if any about the evaluation of answer papers but  updating the evaluation of the answer papers of only few subjects with the intent of asking the candidates to wait for the updation of the evaluation of other subjects is both highly objectionable and as well as  unacceptable. Though the new pattern of of evaluation is transparent in it’s entirety but as far as the grievances of the candidates over updation of the evaluation of only few subjects and asking them to wait for evaluation of other subjects is concerned the onus lies on the university authorities governing the entire process of evaluation at Kashmir University.

“Since Vice Chancellor of the University is the custodian of all the academic interests of the students, the onus of taking corrective measures lies on her like the Vice Chancellors of other Universities for addressing their genuine and legitimate grievances about evaluation part of the examinations both at University’s campus and as well as in affiliated Colleges across Kashmir. Much better it would be if the University Vice Chancellor sets up grievance cells on new pattern of evaluations both at the main University campus and as well as Degree Colleges affiliated to it across Kashmir”.

Undoubtedly the country wide uniformity in the timing of both admissions and examinations is a welcome move but the awareness about the timings of admissions and examinations with focus on the new process of evaluations by the University and the affiliated Degree Colleges won’t have created chaos and confusion among the students that has panicked them after the updation of the evaluation of only few subjects on the University portals.  Since Vice Chancellor of the University is the custodian of all the academic interests of the students, the onus of taking corrective measures lies on her like the Vice Chancellors of other Universities for addressing their genuine and legitimate grievances about evaluation part of the examinations both at University’s campus and as well as in affiliated Colleges across Kashmir. Much better it would be if the University Vice Chancellor sets up grievance cells on new pattern of evaluations both at the main University campus and as well as Degree Colleges affiliated to it across Kashmir.
