GMC’s Bla central diagnostic lab updated with 15 new investigations

Tests shall be operated on 'No Profit' and 'No Loss' model : GMC Principal

Baramulla: Central diagnostic lab of government medical college, Baramulla in North Kashmir has been updated with the fifteen new investigations, which as per the the doctors would enormously help in the diagnosis and management of the chronic diseases.
Authorities at the GMC, Baramulla said that the new 15 investigations include Gamma GT, Lipase, Micro albumin, G6PD, CK-NAC, Phosphorous, Magnesium, LDL-C (measured), Iron profile (Iron, Ferritin, Transferrin, UIBC), Adenosine Deaminase (ADA), Urinary Protein and CSF protein would be done on purely ‘No profit’ and ‘No loss’ model.

“These tests will enormously help in the diagnosis and management of liver diseases, chronic kidney disease, infectious diseases, haemolytic disorders and others”, said Principal GMC, Prof (Dr) Ruby Reshi.

She said, that the new advanced investigations were added to the institutional lab in the phase II which was inaugurated a day ago, however, assured the phase III of diagnostics and examinations will be started soon and would equip the institution to go for immuno essays, tumor markers and profiling and cytogenetics, the ideal services of a tertiary care Institution.

Ruby, meanwhile praised the efforts of the technical staff involved and advised them to continue the services with honesty, dedication and hard work.
