GM reviews Performance of Northern Railway

New Delhi: Ashutosh Gangal the General Manager Northern Railway held a review meeting with the departmental heads of Northern Railway and DRMs.
According to a statement issued from the Public Relations Office of the Northern Railways the deliberations were held on keeping focus on mobility enhancement, FOG arrangements for safe trains operation during ongoing winter season,Freight loading and other developmental infrastructure works. He said that, safety is the prime focus over Northern Railway. He reviewed the arrangements to done over the zone for improving the safety arrangements to tackle the ongoing winter season specially the FOG and emphasis on safe train operation. He instructed the divisions to keep adequate stock of Fog Signals at stations and conducting regular night inspection, monitoring and review of works of mobility enhancement. He said the monitoring of rail fractures and rail welds should be done regularly and no error should be left. He emphasis on availability of locomotives and their timely and exhaustive maintenance and ineffective wagons should be remove from the stock. He also emphasized on focusing on electrical safety on tracks as well as safety in relay and panel rooms for error free movement of trains. He stressed upon the minimizing the human failure in train operation. He also instructed the department heads and DRMs, to maintain the punctuality and keep pace for freight loading with safety as priority. He voiced concern on detention of trains on any account and instructed officials to improve the mobility. On freight Business Development, the GM instructed that BDUs should create an environment of trust, support and confidence amongst the customers. He added that the initiatives and concessions offered by the Railways should reach the clients.
