With e-rickshaws hitting city roads in Srinagar the summer capital of Jammu & Kashmir,  the passenger services have undoubtedly eased the travel for the people on many routes of Srinagar city particularly those connecting uptown areas with most of the interior parts of Srinagar city. People prefer to travel in e-rickshaws as they are asked to pay less and enjoy comfort during the travel in these e-rickshaws. The increasing popularity of e-rickshaws is consequently also showing unprecedented rise in the purchase of e-rickshaws and this may witness further rise in coming few months particularly after the end of the current freezing winter periods in March this year. After all e-rickshaw are not only economical for the passengers but are also pollution free. What matters the most is the fact that e-rickshaws are as economical for the rickshaw drivers as they are for the passengers. It merits a mention here the e-rickshaw costing just Rs 2-2.25 lacs is charged fully in a short span of  just two hours sufficient enough to travel 200 kilometers and this is the major reason for increasing popularity of e-rickshaws in Srinagar the summer capital of Jammu & Kashmir. Reports about plans of sales outlets of e-rickshaws to replace the drained batteries with fully charged batteries will most likely generate much more interest in the purchase of e-rickshaws amongst the auto rickshaw owners in most parts of the Srinagar city.

“As spiraling fuel prices are bringing the fuel driven transport services under tremendous stress, the increasing popularly of not only e-rickshaws but also of  other e-vehicles introduced in Delhi and other parts of the country would also most probably change even the manufacturing and operational  patterns of  automobile industry in coming few years in almost all parts of the country. The reports about unprecedented rise in demand of e-rickshaws at the e-rickshaw sales outlets are good for the health of the new entrepreneurs entering the e-vehicle business operations in view of the increasing interest of the people in e-vehicles in Jammu & Kashmir like other parts of the country”.

In fact the cost effective efficiency of e-rickshaws in view of their increasing popularity would most likely replace the fuel driven auto rickshaws in the twin capital cities Srinagar and Jammu initially and also major towns of both Kashmir Valley and Jammu division in coming few years. Finally the increasing popularity of e-rickshaws could transform not only the very face of passenger services in Jammu & Kashmir but it would also reduce the increasing stress on traffic regulation in twin capital cities Srinagar and Jammu and also major towns of both Kashmir Valley and Jammu division. As spiraling fuel prices are bringing the fuel driven transport services under tremendous stress, the increasing popularly of not only e-rickshaws but also of  other e-vehicles introduced in Delhi and other parts of the country would also most probably change even the manufacturing and operational  patterns of  automobile industry in coming few years in almost all parts of the country. The reports about unprecedented rise in demand of e-rickshaws at the e-rickshaw sales outlets are good for the health of the new entrepreneurs entering the e-vehicle business operations in view of the increasing interest of the people in e-vehicles in Jammu & Kashmir like other parts of the country.
