Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested a drug peddler and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar here Police said that a police party of P S Pampore at a checkpoint established at Douninad Crossing arrested a drug peddler and identified him as Riyaz Ahmad Ganie @ Reyaz Dumper S/o Gh Mohi-ud-Din R/o Douninad and during search, 120 grams of Charas (wrapped in Maize Husk) was recovered from his possession, Stating therein further that police accordingly registered a case vide FIR Number 02/2023 under relevant sections of law at Police Station Pampore and initiated investigation in the matter.
In the concluding para of the above referred statement Police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and reiterated that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Police in it’s above quoted statement reiterated that efforts are on to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
