DE&CC Pulwama conducts Job Fair

12 Companies participate; 2 unemployed youth provided on-spot offer letters, 150 candidates shortlisted for next rounds

Pulwama: In an endeavour to provide a convenient platform to the educated unemployed youth and Job seekers, and facilitate their interaction with the Private Companies and employers for Training, Skilling and placement, the District Employment & Counselling Centre (DE&CC) Pulwama Tuesday conducted a one day Job Fair within their premises at Drussu, Pulwama.
The event witnessed participation from reputed private employers from different sectors.
The Job fair was inaugurated by Joint Director Employment, Kashmir Division, HakeemTanveer in presence of Assistant Director DE&CC Pulwama, HafsaQayoom.
Around 12 Private Companies and Skill Development Organisations operating in varied sectors and fields including SBI Life, Olive Group, LIC India, Fairdeal Motors, Kashmir Valley Motors, Himaliyan Motors, K.Y Motors, Alamdar Cold Store etc participated in the event.
The event witnessed an overwhelming response from job seekers with more than 300 unemployed youth/jobseekers from the district participating in the event.
On the occasion, Joint Director Employment visited the stalls and interacted with the participating youth and representatives of private companies.
Addressing the youth, Joint Director Employment emphasised upon them to come out of the traditional mind set-up and participate in such kinds of events to extend their horizons of vision and wisdom.
On the occasion, Joint Director Employment interacted with the Jobseekers and Job Providers and expressed satisfaction. He said that Job Fairs will be a regular feature of the Employment Department and more Job Fairs will be organized in the district in coming days.
He further briefed the audience about the options available in the private sector, public sector and incentivized schemes under the self-employment sector.
The Managing Directors and representatives of the participating private sector establishments also spoke on the occasion and acquainted the participants regarding the job opportunities, skill development and employment oriented courses offered by these companies.
02 Unemployed youth were provided on spot offer letters, hundreds of fresh registrations were made and more than 150 candidates were shortlisted for the next rounds.
On the Occasion Assistant Director Employment, DE&CC Pulwama impressed on the employers and job seekers to register on the Employment Portal of Govt. Of Jammu & Kashmir www.jakemp.nic.in
Job Seekers with varied skill sets were shortlisted by various companies for different jobs and candidates also registered themselves on the Employment Portal i.e., www.jakemp.nic.in on the spot.
The unemployed youth from district Pulwama expressed their gratitude to DE&CC, Pulwama for organizing this job fair and bringing employers to their doorsteps.
