DDC Ang chairs DLTC meeting for approval of Scale of finance for 2023-2024

Anantnag: A meeting of District Level Technical Committee (DLTC) was on Tuesday held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr BasharatQayoom to finalize the Scale of Finance for the year 2023-24 for Agriculture, Horticulture, Floriculture, Fisheries, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Floriculture at DC office, here.
The participants deliberated on various factors like input prices and market prices of commodities for assessing the Scale of Finance for providing short term loans to the farmers in the shape of Working Capital for various field crops.
Information was shared with the attendees on the prices of various sub items such as fodder, fertilizer, pesticides, labour value addition and manure etc for growing the crops and maintenance of dairy animals.
Keeping the inflation rate in view it was unanimously decided by the committee to raise the SoF to 6% in most of the crops while for mushkibadji, garlic etc it was raised to 15%. It was informed that the rates finalised by the Committee will be forwarded to the State Level Technical Committee.
Dr Basharat while speaking on the occasion said that agriculture and allied sectors are the backbone of sustenance and an important economic activity and the credit facility to the farmers will be instrumental in boosting the sector. He directed the banks to be liberal in lending these small loans to farmers without any delays.
The meeting was convened by Nodal Officer ACC Bank and attended by Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, District Floriculture Officer, LDM JKB, DD Fisheries, Manager SBI, Manager EDB, DDM NABARD among others.
