Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has seized illicit timber at Kulangam area of Handwara here.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters, Srinagar said that while acting on specific input about illicit timber lying in the premises of Abdul Majeed War S/o Ghulam Rasool R/o Kulangam, a police party of Police Post Chogul raided the particular spot and seized twenty (20) logs of illicit timber, Stating therein further that police accordingly registered a case vide FIR No. 03/2023 under relevant sections of law at Police Station Handwara and further investigation set into motion.
Police in the concluding para of it’s above referred statement said that the drive against timber smugglers will remain continue for the protection of green gold and assured people of its consistent actions against anti-social elements to keep society free from crime. Police in it’s statement also resolved to act tough as per law against those who indulge in criminal activities.
