ADGP Armed S.J.M Gillani promotes 367 police personnel

Srinagar :The ADGP Armed J&K S.J.M.Gillani on Saturday issued the promotion orders of 367 Police personnel which include promotion of 353 Assistant Sub-Inspectors to the rank of Sub-Inspectors and 14 Head-Constables to the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspectors.
According to a a statement issued from Armed Police Headquarters the promotion of 353 ASIs to the rank of SIs and 14 HCs to the rank of ASIs respectively was on Saturday issued by the Armed Police Headquarters J&K Srinagar.
The promotions of such a huge number of ASIs to the rank of Sub-Inspectors could be possible in view of the onetime 1 year, 8 months’ relaxation granted by the PHQ J&K in the qualifying service of the ASIs of J&K Armed Police w.e.f 31.12.2022 to make them eligible for the said promotion for which the ADGP Armed expressed his gratitude to the DGP J&K Dilbag Singh.
The promotion orders have been issued after the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) headed by ADGP Armed J&K as its Chairman examined the cases of eligible ASIs and HCs as per their seniority and found them fit for promotion to their next rank in light of the relevant promotion norms read with the onetime relaxation granted by the PHQ J&K in the instant case.
The ADGP Armed J&K congratulated the newly promoted SIs & ASIs and wished Goodluck to them and their families. He hoped that newly promoted SIs & ASIs shall continuously demonstrate discipline, hard work and dedication towards their respective assignments so that their colleagues may also get inspired and follow them accordingly. S.J.M Gillani appreciated the team of his officers and DPC members for completing the task in a time bound manner. The departmental promotion committee (DPC) headed by S.J.M Gillani comprised of Ramesh Kumar Angral AIG(Pers.) PHQ J&K, Shamsher Hussain-SSP Commandant JKAP-13thBn, Farooq Ahmad Zargar-SP Dy. Commandant IRP-6thBn, Ab. Hamid Dar DySP (Pers.) APHQ J&K, Mohd Yousuf SI (M) I/C Training Section APHQ J&K, John Muzaffar SI (M) I/C Provision Section APHQ J&K, Ab. Rashid D/A Actt.Section APHQ J&K.
Expressing their happiness, the newly promoted SIs and ASIs said that the quick/ time bound completion of the promotion process and issuance of promotion orders thereof has certainlybrought an unbelievable bonanza and happiness for the New-Year 2023 to the promotees for which they (promotees) and their families are highly grateful to the DGP J&K Dilbag Singh and S.J.M Gillani ADGP Armed J&K and the team of officers associated with the subject matter.
With the issuance of afore mentioned promotion orders, Armed Police Headquarters J&K has processed and issued the promotion orders of 2194 Police personnel of different ranks during the year 2022 which include promotion of 406 ASIs to the rank of SIs, 209 HC to the rank of ASIs, 722 SgCts to the rank of HCs and 857 Cts to the rank of SgCts besides In-situ promotions to a number of officials of different ranks.
