Ramban Admin conducts mega Block Diwas meet at Perhinder

DDC Chairperson, DC listen to public demands, resolves most of issues on spot

Ramban: Continuing the public outreach programme in far-off areas, the District Administration Rambanon Wednesday organized a mega Block Diwasprogramme at Perhinder area in Block Ramsoo to assess the public issues.
Chairperson, District Development Council, DrShamshad Shan and Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam along with DDC Councillor, Bashir Naik, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Sharma besides other senior officers attended the Block Diwas meeting.
People hailing from adjoining villages including Gagoni, Zaradi, Libra, Neel, Harbari and Parihander participated in the public outreach programme.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairperson informed that the issues of far-flung areas including Ramsoo block have already been discussed with the LG and other higher authorities for their early redressal.
She asked the District Administration, especially the Health Department to organize special camps at the Panchayat Cluster level to issue age certificates, particularly to elderly persons besides organizing camps at Block level for the issuance of handicap certificates to deserving persons.
Responding to the issues regarding the Education department, the Chairperson urged the people to admit their eligible girl children at KGBV Ukhral. She said that the issue of compensation under PMGSY has already been taken up with the concerned authority.
Asking the women to take part in each and every developmental and social activities to ensure desired development of their areas, the Chairperson informed that fair price shops to be established soon at panchayat level to strengthen public supply system in far-flung areas.
Interacting with the people, the Deputy Commissioner asked the PRIs to monitor all developmental works taken up by the various departments to ensure the quality and timely completion of the projects in their respective areas. He also urged the public to participate in gram sabhas for making comprehensive plans to achieve desired developmental results in their areas.
Highlighting the ongoing projects and other salient features of Jal Jeeven Mission, the DC directed officers of Jal Shakti Department to ensure coverage of every nook and corner of the Neel area to provide potable water supply to every household under JJM. He said that a plan under Jal Jeevan Mission has already been approved and work on the same will be started soon to meet the drinking water requirements of the area.
The DC also highlighted various youth and job-oriented schemes like Tejswani, Mumkin and other schemes launched by the Government under Mission Youth. He also directed all line departments to conduct awareness camps besides implementing all their schemes in the area to provide benefits to deserving people.
The DC asked the PRIs to submit the projects for holistic development of their areas to further submit to the Government for approvals. He directed all officers to improve the public service delivery system in their respective departments to facilitate the people at their doorsteps.
They also planted saplings of trees in the premises of Government High School Perhinder besides inspecting development works of different sectors.
Earlier, the DDC Councilor Bashir Naik, PRIs and the general public highlighted the demands and issues including shortage of staff in health and educational institutions, up-gradation of schools, clearance of pending payments under SBM, PMAY and MGNREGA, up-gradation of roads, augmentation in the infrastructure of Power Supply System, the opening of new Health Centres, completion of Water Supply Schemes and other issues. Most of the demands were resolved on the spot and assured the people that their genuine demands will be fulfilled in a time frame manner.
The officers resolved most of the demands on-the-spot pertaining to their respective departments and assured the people that their genuine demands shall also be looked into and redressed on a priority basis.
Similar Block Diwas meetings were also held at all designated locations across the district. People highlighted their demands and sought early redressal from the concerned department.
