Good Governance week concludes with massive public participation in activities at Pulwama

Pulwama: The ‘Good Governance Week’ (GGW) celebrated with the theme ‘PrashasanGaon Ki Aur’, witnessed an array of activities across Pulwama under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner (DC), Baseer-Ul-Haq Choudhary here on Monday.
District officers designated as Mentor Officers reached out to locals in villages and imparted awareness about government schemes, besides assessed development works, status of grievances redressal through active participation of PRI members and frontline workers.
On the successful completion of the GGW, the DC wished the Officers of all the line Departments of the District for taking good governance at the doorsteps and ensuring redressal of possible grievances received both through online and offline mode besides improving service delivery.
He said that District Administration is committed toward making the process of Governance inclusive, participatory, transparent, efficient, responsive, and effective in order to ensure good governance.
The week-long Good Governance week (GGW) programme witnessed huge public participation in awareness programmes on self-employment schemes, public grievance redressal camps, health check-up camps and other activities carried out by various departments in the whole District. Besides, Domicile Certificates, Income Certificates, Category Certificates and revenue extracts were issued by concerned authorities.
Different line departments, including Horticulture, Agriculture, Revenue, RDD, Social Welfare and Health and Family Welfare and others conducted awareness programs and created awareness on various online initiatives and dedicated portals for bringing transparency, efficiency and accountability in administration, besides installing their stalls to benefit the beneficiaries.
As part of the ongoing Good Governance Week and “Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur”, series of Special Medical Camps were held by Department of Social Welfare in collaboration with Department of Health and Family Welfare to issue Age Certificates to Old Age, Physically Handicapped and widows required for ISSS scheme, UDIDs for PwDs of Social Welfare Department.
Awareness camps under Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan were organised by the line departments. RDD Officers inspected rural development works besides achievements under various schemes including PMAY, MGNREGA, ADF, SBM etc.
During the GGW, the Revenue Department issued hundreds of land records, PM Kisan cases, scheduled tribe certificates, LRCs, income certificates, mutations, property certificates, and Aadhaar Cards. Besides, hundreds of Golden Cards were issued by the Health Department.
Also, Farm machinery and awareness camps were organized by Agriculture, Horticulture and allied departments.
Special registration camps were organized in the district to get beneficiaries registered under various schemes so they can avail benefits of these schemes.
