National Consumer Rights Day: FCS&CA, DLSA Samba organise series of awareness activities

Samba: The Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Samba and District Legal Services Authority, Samba celebrated the National Consumer Rights Day Saturday here in Meeting Hall, Block Office Vijaypur under the theme “Effective disposal of cases in Consumer Commission”.
On the occasion, Mukhter Ahmed, Assistant Director, FCS&CA, Samba, Rakesh Kumar; Tehsil Supply Officer, FCS&CA, Vijaypur; Richa Gupta, District Project Management Unit, IMPDS, gave a detailed information on the role of the department in safeguarding the interests of the consumers and made the participants aware about their rights & duties as a consumer.
Besides, the representative of District Legal Services Authority, Samba also educated the participants/consumers about the Consumer Protection Act 1986 as well as District/State/National level Consumer Commissions & their roles/functions.
In addition, many other activities were organised under “Good Governance Week (Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur)” during the program. Public’ grievances/issues were listened & addressed by the Tehsildar Vijaypur as well as FCS&CA Department Samba.
Moreover, different services under Public Service Guarantee Act were provided and other issues of public were also addressed in this program.
Vice-President, Municipal Committee Vijaypur, Officers/Officials of FCS&CA Department Samba/Revenue Department Samba/District Legal Services Authority Samba/AWW Workers and a large gathering were present on this occasion.
