FCS&CA Deptt observes National Consumer Day-2022 on the theme “Effective Disposal of cases in Consumer Commission”

Jammu: Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Jammu on Saturday observed “National Consumer Day- 2022” by organising a seminar on the theme “Effective Disposal of cases in Consumer Commission” here in the conference hall of the Directorate.
The Program was presided over by Director, FCS&CA, Jammu Dr. NaseemJavaidChoudhary. Among others present were Dr. JavedIqbal, Deputy Director (F/R); SeemaParihar, Deputy Director (Supplies); AkhterHussain, Chief Accounts Officer; Mohammad Sagir, Assistant Director, Trade & Store; AlkaMisra, Assistant Director, City Circle-II & Mills and other officials and staff of Directorate. Besides, D. R Danish, President, Consumer Protection Organization and other members were also present on the occasion.
In his address, the Director, FCS&CA Department highlighted the rights of the consumer and added that they also have some responsibilities and duties like passing on the information (or) knowledge of a product (or) service to the fellow consumers for making them aware.
He also stressed that the Department of FCS&CA has a very important role to play in protecting the rights of the Consumers and accordingly advised all the staff members of the Department to perform their duties with regard to protection of Consumer rights with full zeal and enthusiasm.
Earlier, Baijnath (Assistant Legal Remembrance, (Public Law Officer) and Monika Kohli (Prosecutor), FCS&CA Department elaborated on the importance of National Consumer Day and Consumer Rights. Other speakers from the Directorate also presented their view on the subject.
Meanwhile, the National Consumer Day-2022 was also observed in other District Headquarters by the Department of FCS&CA. A series of Programs cum Awareness Camps were organized for the awareness of the public. The programs/ awareness camps would be organised for one week in all the Districts of Jammu Division.
