B’gam: In the ongoing Good Governance Week, Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur programme, the District Administration Budgam under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Friday organized a daylong workshop on Good Governance Practices/ Initiatives at Conference Hall, here.
Speaking as a chief guest, Chairman DDC Budgam, Nazir Ahmad Khan said that the need is that both PRIs and Government functionaries work more in tandem and coordination as it has been bringing better results on the ground level in both public grievances redressal and effective public services delivery in the district.
Chairman instructed for carrying out the work process to the utmost satisfaction of the general public.
At the outset, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, S F Hamid directed officers to ensure prompt grievances redressal and emphasized on 100 percent employment generation through various self employment schemes, speedy work execution and completion of all ongoing works, maintenance of proper sanitation and beautification besides ensuring doubling of income of all farmers shall be taken as priority agendas to focus on.
He stressed on seamless interface between government functionaries and PRIs and asserted on making every coming day as good governance day for the district.
He asserted government functionaries to ensure improvement in both official work as well as public dealings under the good governance campaign.
The DC said that in order to ensure good governance, the District Administration is reaching out to the people at their doorsteps to get direct feedback and suggestions from them and ensure on spot resolution of their grievances in all areas.
The programme was attended by DDC Members, ADC Budgam, ASP, Chief Area Manager, Northern Railways, Director NIFT and all district and sectoral officers.
During the programme, the District Administration Budgam also played a short movie highlighting achievement of deliverables and other initiatives taken under good governance practices in the District.
A brainstorming discussion session was also held on the occasion, where PRIs and officers exchanged their suggestions and ideas to ensure effective and efficient governance.
Highlighting various initiatives, the participants laid major focus on prompt grievance redressal, public services delivery, imparting of skilled education, effective public dealings, digital services and other areas.
Officers deliberated upon their pro-welfare initiatives taken under good governance practices in the district.
Meanwhile, a threadbare discussion on the finalization of Vision Document – 2047 was also held on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, ADC Budgam, Dr Nasir Ahmad said that the good governance week started on December 19 and shall culminate on 25th of December as birth anniversary of former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee which shall be celebrated as Good Governance Day.
