Distt Level Workshop on Good Governance held at B’pora

Work in mission mode to provide quality service delivery to public, implement welfare measures of Admin: DC Owais

B’Pora: The District Administration Bandipora on Friday organised a grand workshop on Good Governance at mini secretariat, here.
The workshop was attended by ADDC Ali Afsar Khan, District Nodal Officer Coordination Mohd Ashraf Hakak, ADC Waseem Raja, , JD Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, DDC Members BDCs, PRIs and other concerned.
In his address, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmad highlighted key aspects of minimum and maximum Governance. He said the Administration’s commitment to shift towards e-services is a major development towards Good Governance and maximum Governance.
He said district administration is on the forefront to prioritise development of Health Education and road infrastructure in the district.
Dr. Owais said as a result of cooperation between elected representatives and Government officers and officials district Bandipora is on the path of fast track development. He said a feedback mechanism for the work of various Government functionaries is already in action however a more active feedback mechanism shall be implemented at district level.
Dr. Owais on the occasion stressed on 100% implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission for maintaining the cleanliness and tourism promotion in the district.
He said Bandipora figures 2nd district in Kashmir for establishing District Disability Rehabilitation Centre for improving the living quality of specially-abled and disabled persons. He said establishment of Phulwari, DDRC, old age home etc are meant for providing comprehensive services to different sections of society.
The DC said that efforts are on to start DNB programmes in different fields especially for gynaecology at District Hospital Bandipora.
Highlighting the importance of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, Dr. Owais said Drugs make the person dependent and ultimately lead to disaster. He said intensive awareness is the need of hour to eliminate drug menace from society.
Dr. Owais stressed on the officers to work in mission mode to provide quality service delivery to the public and put best efforts to implement Welfare measures of administration.
During the programme, the DC also e-inaugrated 29 smart classrooms under District Capex Budget 2021-22, model village tribal plan 2021-22 and aspirational plan works 2022-23 with project cost of 188.62lacs.
Earlier, in his welcome address, ADDC Bandipora deliberated on various aspects of Good Governance.
ADC Bandipora Waseem Raja, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Project Manager DIC Mehraj Wani, DPM NRLM, Students and various other speakers also deliberated on the theme of Good Governance.
Deliberating upon the indexes of Good Governance it was given out that during the last three years 440 Kms of road length has been macadamized besides 41 habitations have been connected by PMGSY.
It was given out that around 290 kms of road length has been sanctioned under NABARD with an annual investment of 112 crore.
It was also informed that under the element of reviving lost treasure and with the coordination of PRIs over 100 springs have been restored and rejuvenated besides more 25 springs are under restoration.
