Distt Level Dissemination Workshop on Good Governance held at DC Office Srinagar

Srinagar: With a view to promote citizen centric Governance, Redressal of Public Grievances and Improving Service Delivery system, a District Level Dissemination workshop focusing on Good Governance practices/initiatives in the District under the Nationwide campaign– ‘Good Governance Week’(Sushashan Saptah)-Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur, 2022’, was held at Meeting Hall of DC Office Complex here on Friday.
Former Secretary GAD, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone, who has served as /Ex Deputy Commissioner Srinagar was the Chief Guest on the Occasion.
While Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar. Dr Syed Haneef Balkhi, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Syed Shabir Ahmad, Chief Planning officer, Mohammad Yaseen Lone, besides all District/Sectoral and other concerned were present in the Workshop.
While sharing his experience and views, the Former Deputy Commissioner/Secretary GAD said that good governance is measured in terms of accessibility of the Administration to the public and percolation of benefits of public centric welfare schemes to the genuine beneficiaries.
Advising the Officers to be accessible to the public, be punctual and diligent in official work, besides maintaining credibility at all levels. He also stressed on the necessity of having of all rules and guidelines and upholding the rule of law.
During the Workshop, several Officers shared their experiences in working in the District and gave suggestions on the improvements that could be brought about.
The Workshop was organized to ensure effective implementation of Good Governance across all verticals in Government establishments, the Workshop will focus on covering practices and initiatives undertaken in the District during the last five years, specifically in the field of Public Service Delivery, Health, Education, Grievance Redressal and Public Works etc.
During the workshop stress was laid adopting public friendly mechanism in delivery system by simplifying mode of online services facilities.
Earlier, Good Governance practices/ initiatives taken up by Srinagar District were highlighted through a PowerPoint Presentation particularly with regard to online public service systems and grievances redressal mechanism.
