DPEO G’bal presides over training prog for conduct of Annual Revision of PERs

Ganderbal: The District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO) Ganderbal, Shyambir on Tuesday presided over the one-day training cum orientation programme for EROs, AEOs, panchayat election booth officials (PEBos), Inspectors and Data Entry Operators for conduct of Annual Revision of Panchayat Electoral Rolls (PERs).
The programme was conducted by the District Panchayat Election Office Ganderbal at Conference Hall of Mini Secretariat here and was attended by SDM Kangan, Javaid Ahmad Rather; Deputy District Panchayat Election Officer, PEBOs, Inspectors and Data Entry Operators.
Speaking on the occasion, the DPEO highlighted the importance of the process of electoral roll revision and asked the PEBOs to remain present in their respective polling station locations with the requisite forms for the guidance of Electors. AEROs were asked to establish Control Rooms in their offices for dissemination of Information.
The DPEO urged participants to work with full dedication to complete the process of electoral roll revision within a given timeframe.
During the training program it was informed that the Roll shall be revised with respect to January 1, 2023 as qualifying date. All participants were briefed and necessary training and instructions were given to them to conduct the electoral registration and electoral roll revision smoothly and take necessary steps to bring the process to a logical end.
