Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur: DC Kulgam conducts whirlwind tour of various areas

DC also listens issues of people at hilly & far-off hamlet HallanManzgam, participates in Gram Sabha

Kulgam: Taking governance at the doorsteps of the people and to take first hand appraisal of the issues and grievances of people, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.BialMohi-Ud-Din Bhat on Saturday conducted whirlwind tour of Manzgam, D.H.Pora, Liroo, Hallan and various other areas of the district.
The DC during the visit presided over a grievances redressal camp at hilly and far-off hamlet HallanManzgam and listened to issues and grievances of people of the area.
PRI members and people of the area apprised the DC about their issues and developmental requirements of the area.
All the issues of people were listened to patiently by the DC for early action and redressal.
While addressing the people of the area, DC urged them to get registered for home stays as tourists prefer home stays to enjoy rich cultural heritage.
He urged people to spare surplus rooms for tourists and earn livelihood and the process will increase tourist footfall in the area too.
Meanwhile, a gram sabha was also held at Hallan and the DC participated in the gram sabha and oversaw its proceedings.
Later, he inspected progress on repairs of Hallan-Manzgam road. He also took stock of progress made on the Water Supply Scheme Manzgam Galvanpora, a project taken under JalJeevan Mission with an estimated cost of 9.27 crore.
During the visit, the DC also kick-started Door to Door collection of domestic wastes under solid waste management programme in Manzgam.
Enroute, he also took stock of various developmental projects including the YSS building at Damhal HanjiPora which is under execution of RDD with an estimated cost of 46 lac.
The DC also facilitated Gharpravesh of PMAY-G beneficiary at K.B.Pora A.
SDM Noorabad Bashir Ul Hassan, ACD Mohammad Imran Khan, ACR Mir Imtiyaz-ul-Aziz, TehsildarD.H.Pora and other officers accompanied the DC.
