Srinagar : The three day J&K Championship concluded on Saturday at Srinagar Sports Club SKISC Srinagar.
According to an official statement issued by the organizers at the end of the Championship the Chess Championship was organized by “The Kashmir Chess Club” in collaboration with All J&K Chess Association under the Aegis of J&K Sports Council. On the closing ceremony Masood Ahmad Manager SKISC was Chief Guest and distributed cash prizes and trophies to winners. Besides other officials of Sports & other members of All J&K Chess Association were also present. Total 40 selected players were invited for this tournament from all over from UT. In which Soham Kamotra from District Jammu secured 1st position, Ajit Singh from District Unhampur secured 2nd position, Faisal Farooq Dhar from District Ganderbal secured 3rd position and Khalid Amin from District Srinagar secured 4th position. The top 04 players will represent J&K in “MPL 59TH Senior National Chess Championship– 2022 held to be held at New Delhi from 22nd December 2022 to 3rd January 2023.
