General Lok Adalats held across Kathua Distt

Kathua: A General LokAdalat was held here on Saturday at District Courts Complex.
The Chairman District Legal Services Authority, JafferHussain Beg (Pr. District and Sessions Judge Kathua) inaugurated the proceedings by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Seven Benches were constituted for settling the referred cases. The Bench number 1 comprised the Chairman, DLSA Kathua (Pr. District & Sessions Judge Kathua) JafferHussain Beg and Munsiff JMIC, KathuaCheenaSumbria.
The Bench No. 2 consisted of Special Mobile Magistrate, Surinder Kumar Thappa and Addl. Public Prosecutor, CJM Court, RakeshSambyal.
The Bench No. 3, comprised District Mobile Magistrate, ShilpaDogra and Public Prosecutor, Surinder.
Bench No. 4 included District Social Welfare Officer, Abdul Rahim and Tehsildar, Vikram Kumar, while the Bench No. 5, comprised Munsiff JMIC, BasohliJeevan Kumar Sharma and President, Bar Association Basohli, Advocate Shub Kumar.
Bench No. 6, comprised of Munsiff JMIC, BillawarJyotiBhagat and President Bar Association Billawar Adv. Jatinder Singh Bhadwal.
Bench No. 7, comprised Munsiff JMIC Mahanpur, RajniBhagat, and Tehsildar Mahanpur RadhikaSohan.
The matters placed before the Benches included Civil, Criminal Compoundable, Cheque Bounce, Recovery matters, BSNL, 138 NI Act, 125 CrPC, Revenue matters, MACT, Matrimonial, Public Utility Services, Pre-litigation matters and also Traffic challans.
A total number of 2180 cases were taken up for amicable settlement out of which 2060 cases were settled and an amount of Rs. 446934/- was realized as settlement amount.
