Shopian| : In order to monitor functioning of the Fair Price Shops (FPSs), the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishyaon Saturday visited Fair Price Shop at Tak Mohalla Shopian.۔
During the visit, the DC checked the FPS to oversee its functioning and to ensure conformity of norms by the dealers meant for delivery of food grains, under Public Distribution System (PDS).
The visit was taken in compliance with the directions of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Department of Food and Public Distribution, GoI, under the celebrations of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”.
Under the nationwide initiative, it has been decided by the Government to undertake visits to about 5000 FPSs across the country by senior officers in order to significantly enhance the visibility of FPSs, and to boost the morale of the officials/FPS owners as well as provide confidence to the beneficiaries.
DC also interacted with beneficiaries and sought their feedback on the working of the fair price shop.
Among others, Assistant Director FCS&CA, Sheikh Anayatulla and other officials accompanied the DC during the visit.
