Srinagar | : The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday said that it has arrested 4 gamblers and seized stake money from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar here police said that while acting on specific inputs about the presence of gamblers in Vijpara area of Hajin, a police party led by SHO Police Station Hajin raided the specific site and arrested four gamblers on the spot who were identified as Bilal Ahmad Shah S/o Ab Aziz Shah, Feroz Ahmad GorooS/o Mohd Hayat Goroo, Imtiyaz Ahmad ReshiS/o Gh Rasool Reshi and Manzoor Ahmad Shah S/o Gh Mohd Shah, all residents of Khomina Baharabad Hajin.
Stating that stake money of Rs6,890/- and playing cards were recovered from the gamblers, Police in it’s above referred statement further said that the arrested persons have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody and a case vide FIR No. 87/2022 under relevant sections of law has been also registered at Police Station Hajin and investigation has been taken up. In the concluding para of the statement police said that people found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people to share information regarding crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
