Drug peddler held in B’pora, contraband substance also recovered: Police

Srinagar : The Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday said that it has a drug peddler in Bandipora and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Police said that while acting on specific inputs received by Police Post Aloosa about one person namely Abdul Sattar Seer Gojer S/o Jumma Seer Gojer R/o Malangam having indulged in drug peddling and hoarded a huge quantity of narcotic substance in his cowshed near his residential house a police party headed by I/C PP Aloosa under the supervision of Dy SP Hqrs Bandipora Shafat Mohamad and SHO PS Bandipora along with the Executive Magistrate Ist Class Aloosa raided the specific location and recovered a polythene bag containing 1.5kg of charas powder was recovered from the said location.
Stating that upon the personal search of the accused person 30grams of charas was recovered from him following which he was arrested and shifted to PS where he remains in custody, Police in it’s statement further said that a case vide FIR No. 187/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Bandipora and further course of investigation was initiated in the matter.
Police in it’s statement also said “ during the preliminary investigation, it came to surface that the said accused person is a notorious drug dealer of the area and is making the youth of Aloosa area drug addicts by selling the said contraband substances”. In the concluding para of it’s statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law and it’s consistent actions against drug peddlers show that efforts are on to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
