PM-FME Awareness/ Motivational camps by AH B’gam concludes at Block BK Pora

Budgam :  Block wise PM-FME Awareness cum Motivational Camps organized by Department of Animal Husbandry Budgam concluded on Monday at Block BK Pora, here.

The programme was conducted in different blocks of district viz. Beerwah, Chadoora, Khansahib, Narbal and Budgam with the aim to create awareness among the public regarding ‘PM-Formalization of Micro food processing Enterprises scheme’ launched by Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI), in partnership with the State/ UT Governments, for providing financial, technical and business support for new or up-gradation of already existing micro food processing enterprises.

These camps witnessed huge participation from the farmer community, SHGs and unemployed youth.

Speaking   at the concluding event held at Block BK Pora, Officers from Animal Husbandry Department Budgam briefed about the importance of food processing, branding and marketing of food products to enhance their salability.

The participants were encouraged to take benefit of this scheme by availing facilities like 35% subsidy maximum up to 10 lakh and easy Bank loan up to 90% of cost of Machinery and Technical Civil Works.

Officers from the other line Departments viz. Horticulture & Horticulture Planning & Marketing, Agriculture & Allied sectors and NRLM also highlighted the importance of processing in the food sector and urged the participants to establish their own small scale micro food processing units/startups in order to create employment avenues for themselves and for others by availing benefits of this scheme.

Farmers associated with Dairy, Agriculture and Horticulture, PRIs, sizable numbers of general public, women members of various SHGs attended the programme along with officials from the line department.

During the programme, many youth including few Women SHG members showed their interest to establish micro food processing units and were registered under the PM-FME scheme on spot.
