Ramban : The Drug and Food Control Organization carried-out inspection of various medical stores in far-flung areas of the district Ramban to check the registration, authorization and record of availability and sale of medicines, besides checking standard parameters of medicines, available in the chemists’ shops.
On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam, the Drug Control Officer (DCO), Imtiyaz Ahmed Tuesday inspected various medical stores including PradhanMantriBhartiyaJanaushadhiKender in Sub-Gool.
During the inspections, the inspection team sealed 2 medical stores for not maintaining sales records under the Drugs & Cosmetic Act 1940. Besides, 02 drug samples were also lifted from medical stores for determining their quality and purity. The chemists were warned of severe action under extant rules in case the mentioned deficiencies are not removed within a stipulated period of time. They were instructed to install CCTV cameras and ensure that the sale of Drugs is made only on a valid and proper prescription.
The department also requested the general public to keep a vigil on persons involved in the trade of Narcotics & Psychotropic drugs and inform the authorities if they found any violation of rules. The team also advised the people to desist from taking medicines and health services from any unregistered medical stores and medicos.
