DC Srinagar reviews status of ongoing National Highway Projects in the Distt

Srinagar : The Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad AjazAsadon Tuesday convened a meeting of officers to review the progress of work on Ring Road Srinagar,  Grade Separator at Lasjan, Flyovers at Bemina, Nowgam&Sanatnagar, Circular Road, other major roads having issues with revenue department besides impediments faced by agencies while executing the works.

DC while reviewing physical and financial status of the NH projects, it was informed that work on the projects including culverts and foundations is going on smoothly.

Regarding Grade Separator at Lasjan, Deputy Commissioner was apprised that more than 80 percent work has been completed and after NHAI placed indent recently few structure  falling in the alignment are under evaluation and compensation to the owners will be given shortly.

Further, DC also reviewed the present position of ongoing  work of flyovers and dateline for completion.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner was briefed about the ongoing work on flyerovers wherein it was informed that more than 30% of work has been completed on both Nowgam and Bemina Flyover projects.

Besides, it is informed that the project of Sanatnagar Flyover has been already sanctioned while the design of the project is awaiting final approval.

The meeting was informed that the completion date of Bemina Flyover has been fixed for March, 2023 while the dateline for Nowgam is scheduled for January, 2023. However, it was apprised that due to delay in shifting of utilities at Nowgam the completion  date may extend.

Regarding the Circular Road Srinagar, Deputy Commissioner was apprised by a concerned officer that  due to non availability of funds for compensation several cases are pending for settlement.

Reacting to the issue, DC asked concerned officers of Circular road to ascertain source of funding of such works whether the source of funding  is currently active or not besides to ascertain whether the  work has been started on any  such projects or not.

Among others, the meeting was attended by officers of NHIDCL,  NHAI,  PWD, SE R&B circular, R&B, CRP,  O&M, revenue and District administration.
