DC inspects civic amenities, works in Ramban town

Ramban :  Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam on Monday visited several wards and inspected shops and other business establishments in Ramban town during a field visit conducted under the public outreach program.

The DC was accompanied by the President, Municipal Council,   SunitaSumbria, Councillor MC, Khalid Wani, Executive Engineer, PWD Abhishek Gupta, Tehsildar, Rafiq Ahmed, CEO MC Ramban, Sudarshan Kumar

The Deputy Commissioner resolved the water logging issues in ward no 1 of the Municipal Council Ramban and directed the Executive Engineer PWD to prepare a DPR for improving the drainage system in the area.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the CEO MC Ramban to implement orders issued regarding the door-to-door collection of garbage besides ensuring collection of monthly Rs 100 sanitation fees from each household and Rs. 200 from business establishments to strengthen the sanitation infrastructure and manpower.

The DC directed the officers of JPDCL to intensify the surprise inspections of houses and business establishments to curb the menace of power theft which is the main cause of frequent power breakdowns in Ramban town and other areas of the district. He also warned the sellers and users of banned heating appliances to stop the illegal practice to avoid legal action under extant rules.

Taking cognizance of un-managed water connections which is affecting the lane and drain system in town Ramban, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Engineers of Jal Shakti Department to take necessary action to streamline the system of water supply connection, besides regularizing the un- authorized connections in the town within the prescribed time.

The DC also directed the officers of MC Ramban, to ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of the drainage system in the town. He also suggested the Municipal Council should focus on their revenue generation programmes, besides outsourcing the door-to-door garbage collection system to make the town neat and clean.

The President, Councillor, and other prominent citizens raised various issues of public interest like the maintenance of the drainage system near Cafeteria Morh, Bus stand District Court Complex, Higher Secondary School, Ramban, and the major drainage system of ward numbers 4 and 5, the Deputy Commissioner issued on-the-spot directions to concerned officers to immediately take action to resolve the issues on a priority basis.

While inspecting various shops, the Deputy Commissioner directed the officers of enforcement departments to regularly check the quality and rates of grocery items, especially fresh supplies to ensure the quality of products available in the market.
