Srinagar: Two residential houses were gutted in a devastating fire incident at Batamaloo area of Srinagar early Sunday.
Fire and Emergency Service officials said that fire broke out in a residential house at Lakeshmanpora Danderkhan area of Srinagar at 2:41 am and engulfed another nearby house.
Fire engines from the nearby fire station reached the spot and doused the leaping flames before it could have spread to other residential houses of the area.
Two houses belonging to Shamsher Singh and Kishan Jeet Singh were gutted in the blaze.
The cause of the fire is due to the electric short circuit, the Fire and Emergency official said.
