Doda :  A team of 13th Bn NDRF on Thursday conducted Table Top Exercise (TTE) on Earthquakes and Landslides as a part of its 2- day awareness program starting from today,i.e, Thursday.

Table Top Exercise organised in the Conference hall of the DC office complex  was attended by ADC Dr Ravi Kumar Bharti  officers of NDRF, SDRF, Police, CRPF and HoDs of line departments .

It was informed that the Mock Drill was organised by the NDRF team to sensitise stakeholders about the rescue preparedness at the time of an earthquake, landslide, and fire incident.

On the first day of the exercise, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) demonstrated Table Top Exercise (TTE) which is helpful in staying safe in the wake of an earthquake or landslide.

Earlier, Assistant Commandant, 13th Battalion, NDRF, Javed Iqbal gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation on the structure and role of NDRF in India, its abilities, the details of machines used for dealing with all types of natural and man-made disasters, etc.

Javed Iqbal stressed on the need to maintain coordination among the stakeholders during a disaster to reduce response time for rescue measures as District Doda falls under IV and V earthquake seismic zones.

The meeting held threadbare discussion on the Response, Rescue and Rehabilitation preparation plan and strategy to mitigate the damage and loss of lives and property during high intensity earthquakes and other disasters.

Heads of different stakeholder departments responded to the queries during the meeting.

Deliberations were also held on the utility of satellite phone, helipads, medical infrastructure and response team, hygiene and sanitation, drinking water supply, role of media, awareness and training to effectively tackle the unprecedented disaster in the district.

Among others present were SE JSD, SP Operations Doda, SE PMGSY, Assistant Commandant 13th Bn NDRF, ACD Doda, CMO Doda, DIO Doda, DEPO Doda, ASI UTDRF, and other officers and Officials of line departments.
