Jammu : A team of Motor Vehicles Department headed by RTO Jammu PankajBhagotraon Thursday laid special nakas at different locations of Jammu District to check violations and visible offences under Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and Central Motor Vehicles Rules 1989.
The Enforcement Drive was started early morning and nearly 70 vehicles, which included Buses, Tippers and School Buses were checked for various offences viz. Route Permit violations, Overloading, Over speeding, without Seat Belt and without SLD, out of which 22 vehicles were challaned/Compounded.
An amount of Rs. 1.02 lacs was recovered as fine on the spot.
The enforcement team comprising Tara Mani Sharma, ARTO (Flying Squad), Motor vehicles Inspectors Rajeev Kundal, AnupamGandotra and RanjeevBhasin laid naka at Kunjwani, Kaluchak in Jammu-Pathankot National Highway.
