Kulgam :  The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat on Thursday chaired a meeting of Officers and Members of Traders and Transporters Association to discuss and finalise the measures and steps for smooth traffic flow in Kulgam.

The meeting held threadbare discussion on various issues including management of the traffic system in the district and making the town more beautiful.

Requisite measures were discussed threadbare to overcome traffic jams and ensure better regulation of traffic. Creation of parking zones near Qazigund and ShopainAddas besides making Laroo bus stand fully functional also came under discussion.

The DC instructed ARTO, Traffic and Police department and other concerned to work in close coordination and act tough against traffic rules violators, who cause a lot of inconvenience to common people.

He directed the officers to conduct a massive enforcement drive against wrong parking and roadside encroachments in town.

The DC also asked to relocate street vendors from heavy traffic junction points which hinder smooth traffic ply. He stressed concerned officers to take all required measures to decongest roads in town to ensure smooth flow of traffic.

The meeting was attended by President Municipal Council Kulgam, ADC Kulgam, DSP-HQ, Tehsildars, ARTO, EO Kulgam, Members of traders and transport Association and other officers.
