Jammu : Director General J&K Police Dilbag Singh on Wednesday sanctioned over Rupees 99 lakh welfare loan and relief to 83 serving officers and personnel of J&K Police.
According to statement issued from Police Media Centre PHQ, Welfare loan of Rs 41 lacs has been sanctioned to 31 personnel to meet the expenses of self-treatment or for the treatment of their dependents. The amount sanctioned for the medical treatment ranges from rupees one lac to Rs two lacs. Moreover welfare relief of Rs 1.90 lacs in favour of 12 Police personnel has also been sanctioned.
Welfare loan ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1.50 lacs each has been sanctioned in favour of 46 personnel for the purpose of their own marriage, or for marriage of their wards/relatives. Similarly, welfare loan of rupees 3 lakhs has been sanctioned in favour of two Police personnel for pursuing higher education of their wards and Rs 50,000 has been sanctioned in favour of one Police personal for circumcision of his ward. The welfare loan sanctioned to the Police personnel is refundable and is recovered in monthly installments from their salaries without any interest, however welfare relief sanctioned is non-refundable. The welfare loan/relief has been sanctioned out of the Central Police Welfare Fund.
Police in the above referred statement reiterated that Police Headquarters under different welfare schemes is providing financial assistance to all the ranks serving/retired of Jammu and Kashmir Police and to serving SPOs. Financial support to the families & wards of slain Police personnel and wards of slain SPOs is also taken care of by the Police Headquarters.
