Jammu : The My Town My Pride 2.0 (MTMP) programme was kick started on Monday in Jammu Municipal Corporation by Mayor JMC, Rajinder Sharma and visiting officer, Jammu district ShaleenKabra at Convention Centre, Canal road here.
During the event, an interactive session was held by Mayor and visiting officer with Councillors and representatives of different line departments.
Mayor while addressing the gathering said that the benefits of MTMP programme will percolate down to grass root level and pave way for greater development of urban areas. Mayor desired to mitigate the problems being faced by the public related to unauthorized constructions.
Mayor highlighted that the changes shall be affected in the existing building by laws to make the laws more people friendly. He further advised that JMC must explore more options to enhance revenue generating sources for the Corporation.
The Mayor said that under MTMP five visiting officers are visiting different areas of Jammu Municipal Corporation to ascertain the development needs and aspirations of general public.
Rahul Yadav Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation on the occasion gave an overview about various activities to be carried out during MTMP.
The other visiting officers of JMC, Shiv AnantTayal, Vikas Gupta, DeepikaKumari Sharma and Shiv Kumar Gupta were also present on the occasion.
The visiting officers also interacted with locals and assured them that their genuine issues will be resolved in a time bound manner. In some cases, the visiting officers gave on spot directions to the concerned officers for redressal of the public grievances.
