JD YSS Inaugurates Inter-Zonal Athletic Meet

Pulwama : Athletics is believed to be the pinnacle of sports. Inter zonal District level Annual athletic meet was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Open Sports Stadium Lelhar here.

According to an official statement issued from the Public Relations Office of the Directorate of Youth Services & Sports all age groups (AAG) boys and girls are participating in the sports meet which will conclude on 6th of the current month. Athletes from various sports zones of the district thronged to the venue on Saturday with great zeal and enthusiasm to showcase their talent. The ground was presenting a festive look right from the morning, as the athletes were very excited to take part in their favorite field and track events.

JD Kashmir Bashir Ahmed graced the function as cheif guest and inaugrated the event in presence of DYSDO Pulwama, ZEO Kakapora, activity incharge directorate of YSS J&K and many senior officials of the Department were also present on this occasion. Speaking on the occasion, JD YSS thanked all the participants and their parents for ensuring their participation despite cold weather conditions. He was all praise for the organizers for organizing such an extensive event in a professional way. He urged the athletes to know all about their chosen sport from the basics and insisted them to work on it so as to make themselves enough capable to compete in competitions of high levels with confidence in future.  He also advised them to refrain from drugs and anti-social activities which is the prime objective of the Department. DYSDO Pulwama thanked all the guests for their participation despite their busy schedules and also presented brief but comprehensive description about the event on this occasion. Pertinently many officials of the Department have been deputed for the successful conduct of the meet.
