Shopian : On the eve of ‘International Disability Day’, the Department of Social Welfare, Shopian in collaboration with District Administration Shopianon Saturday organised a cricket match for persons with disabilities at Sports Stadium Batpora, here.
The match was held as a mark of respect to the contributions made by the persons with disabilities to the society and to keep them motivated to perform their best in life.
The Match was inaugurated by District Social Welfare Officer, Shopian, Showkat Ahmad.
The match was played between Apple Town Cricket Team and Cricket Team Pulwama with results favouring Apple Town Cricket Team, Shopian.
The winner and runner up teams were awarded with trophies and all the players were awarded with certificates and uniforms by District Social Welfare Officer, Shopian.
The officials of the Social welfare Department, besides a large number of locals were present on the occasion.
