DDC Re-poll: DPEO B’pora finalises preparations

Bandipora :  The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed who is also District Panchayat Election Officer on Saturday convened a meeting of concerned officers to finalize the preparation for upcoming DDC re-poll of Hajin-A, scheduled on 5th December.

At the outset, the DC took stock of preparedness, by deliberating on actions plans of  concerned departments in respect of deployment of Zonal, Sectoral Magistrates, deployment  and randomization of polling staff, training of staff, distribution of election material, videography, Control Room for grievance redressal, transport and security arrangements.

Dr Owais gave directions to all to put up their best efforts for smooth conduct of elections. He directed concerned Nodal Officer to enforce the Model Code of Conduct strictly and ensure stoppage of electioneering on the scheduled time as per norJ&K

While reviewing the detailed arrangements of transport, security and material management, he instructed that fool-proof arrangements be kept in place for ensuring hassle free movement of men and material.

Emphasizing on efficient tackling of poll related grievances, he intimated Strong Room will function round the clock for grievance redressal.

The DC was apprised by concerned Nodal Officers about the finalization of proper and adequate arrangements especially on allotment of polling staff and their training, installation and provision of assured minimum facilities (AMF).

Besides, counting arrangements were also reviewed and the concerned were directed to keep readiness for smooth conduct of counting of votes.

Dr. Owais said District Administration is well prepared for conducting re-poll.

He said four polling stations have been designated as model polling stations with additional facilities for voters. Besides, CCTVs have also been installed in some sensitive polling stations.

Dr. Owais urged people to ensure maximum participation in re-poll to elect DDC of their respective constituency for overall development of the area.

The meeting was attended by Nodal Officer Election Monitoring, Mohammad Ashraf Hakak; ADC Bandipora, Waseem Raja; General Observer for re-poll, Riyaz Ahmad Shah; ASP Bandipora, AshiqHussainTak; Expenditure Observer, Rafiq Ahmad Shah and other concerned Nodal Officers, Magistrates.
